Night of March 17 2025 at a mall, an 14 years old teenage boy jumped from the 7th floor and succumbed to his death. Observers heard a loud thud and looked below. Sadly, security footage confirmed that he had done it on purpose. On the ground a lifeless body next to a backpack contained his suicide note, reading:
Life has lost its meaning. Not living for anyone, not doing this for anyone else. This is too much, but for my freedom... (Roughly translated from Vietnamese)
After news broke and photos captured by bystanders, every single e-news site and facebook content farm eagerly wrote the most disheartening thing mankind could ever imagine. This is NOT the first time that kids got suicidal and killed themselves: April 1st 2022, also a 14 years old teenage boy jumped from his family apartment... from the 28th floor.
I could list all of these young people who died but it would be too long, and that's a sad reality that: nobody cares. People only cared about how sad and dramatic it is and do ABSOLUTELY nothing to change, just blame and blame, time after time. They're the same people who would react with crying emojis on their phone about somebody who killed themselves and also be the kind that called mentally unwell kids "weak", "lazy", "weird" and "ignorant", blaming their deadbeat parents to "teach" them better!
How?
If you could tell me, you would've saved the children!
A little life whom suffered from god-knows disease. A disease that turns their brain into mush, into lifeless beings, slowly rotting, no determination, forced into cram schools: Maths, English, Philology, Music, anything, ANYTHING! The perfectionist, the over-thinker that they are. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
The TV shits out images of talented people, and there it is to fucking judge how much of a loser you're, useless! Dummy. School couldn't care less either. They wasting the youths time, forcing them to sit in this stink-house, this hellhole to stuff your brain like a turkey, to serve it out, just to contribute something to the world.
Until it all ripped apart. The beating heart no longer wants to beat, and beat it is, out of their mind. The cage finally opened, forced, but free as ever.
Still, nothing changes. The tree is still there, the grass is greener than ever. Lives will still be claimed, every single hour on this planet.
To express that they (the children protective system) "cared", a suicide hotline was set up, but let me tell you: most people won't (or don't know) call them, because fear of judgement and the "I am fine" mindset. Plenty of schools (including mine) have put up a mental health service room, assuming students to go in and vent about every single trauma of their life, under the tiny 5 minutes break time, conclude and done.
Not a single soul visited the place.
It's clear that the don't want to change anything and rather to keep the system die down instead. So when do WE fight back? Or most importantly, DO we fight back?
(Ironically, I was on a education magazine once.)
